CD Holes as graphic elements
Interesting collection of cd’s. Nice idea to use the hole as a graphic element instead of just trying to work around this empty space. Have a look here.

Check out this nice collaboration between video artist Scott Pagano and techno producer Jochem Paap (a.k.a. Speedy J). I’ve seen it on a big screen with 5.1 audio, it’s a mind blowing journey of mesmerizing fast moving visuals and meticulously positioned spatial beats, cracks, and other fantastic samples.
Check out the video here (unfortunately its not 5.1 sound).

Check out these two 3D animations, funny at first but humorously disturbing in the end.

Look at this very nice clip, an animated sequence of typography from a quote of Samuel L. Jackson in one of my favoriote movies “Pulp Fiction”.
Jules: What country you from?
Brett: What?

Very cool documentary about the Helvetica typeface, many examples of it’s use and perhaps mis-use. Hopefully soon to be seen in a theater near you! (see screenings page). Make sure you preview the trailer!

Helvetica is a feature-length independent film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface (which is celebrating its 50th birthday this year) as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives. Helvetica will begin screening at film festivals worldwide starting in March, followed by cinema screenings across the US and Europe, and the DVD release.
